In this paper the results of plate load tests conducted on cemented gravelly deposits in the north of Tehran, Iran, are presented. In order to evaluate the in situ modulus of the cemented gravelly deposits of Tehran alluvium, vertical plate load tests, standard penetration tests and traditional test pit borings were conducted in 75 different locations. The results of the plate load and standard penetration tests are analysed and discussed. The correlation between corrected standard penetration test blow counts (N) and subgrade reaction modulus (Ks) and elasticity modulus (Es) are presented for cemented gravels.
