This study examines the results of a seismic stability analysis of geosynthetic-reinforced retaining walls subjected to different seismic loading conditions. The effect of wall facing thickness on stability is investigated for a full-height concrete facing by using the two-wedge failure mechanism. An analytical method is developed to correlate the effect of facing thickness with the amount of geosynthetic reinforcement required, using the limit equilibrium analysis in relation to the seismic forces. The results are presented in chart form.
