Anchors are employed in the foundations of structures such as transmission towers, dry docks and buried pipelines under water. Considerable literature is available to estimate the failure loads of anchors to resist static uplift forces Meyerhof & Adams, 1968; Rowe & Davis, 1982; Murray & Geddes, 1987; Subba Rao & Kumar, 1994.
