The work investigated the effect of using an amino-based resin as a new chemical grout on the static and dynamic behaviour of dry and saturated sands. Several samples of a uniformly graded silty sand having different relative densities were injected with this resinous grouting. Permeability tests conducted on the grouted samples showed that the amino-based resin reduced the permeability. To determine the effect of grouting on the static behaviour of grouted samples, a set of uniaxial compression, unconsolidated undrained and consolidated undrained triaxial tests were performed on specimens with different relative dry densities. Undrained cyclic triaxial tests were also performed to study the dynamic properties of grouted sands. The cyclic compression behaviour of the samples was investigated under stress-controlled harmonic loading with different dynamic load amplitudes and frequencies of 0·5, 1·0 and 5 Hz. The initial shear modulus and the damping ratio of the grouted samples were evaluated in terms of the number of loading cycles. The results showed that compression static and dynamic strengths increased with increasing relative density and curing time. It was also found that the relative dry density had no effect on the pulse velocity of the grouted sands.
