Introduction to the Special Issue on: Ground Improvement Techniques Available to Purchase

Papers in this issue were initially presented as keynote addresses at the International Conference on Ground Improvement Techniques, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was the fourth in a now established successful series of biannual meetings, the first of which took place in Macau in 1997. This was followed up by meetings in Singapore in 1998, and 2000, followed on by the latest which took place in Kuala Lumpur in 2002.
