This study aims to examine how Shariah-compliant digital payments influence Muslim customers’ purchase decisions for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) products through Shariah entrepreneurship principles.
This two month-survey collects the data processed with SPSS and Amos program using a questionnaire sent via a Google form link to Muslim customers having experience(s) using Shariah-compliant digital payments to purchase MSMEs products. They are taken using purposive and nonprobability as well as snowball sampling technique.
Findings show that Shariah-compliant digital payments influence Muslim customer’s purchase decision effect on MSMEs products through Shariah entrepreneurship principles partially. Shariah-compliant digital payments are the predictor of Muslim customer’s purchase decision for MSME products and of Shariah entrepreneurship principles. Meanwhile, Shariah entrepreneurship principles are the predictor of Muslim customer’s purchase decision for MSME products.
MSMEs must use Shariah entrepreneurship principles to trigger Shariah-compliant digital payment effect on Muslim customer’s purchase decision. Meanwhile, policymakers must encourage the issuers of the Shariah-compliant digital payments to integrate the advance of technology with Islamic law.
Technology acceptance model together with Shariah can be integrated and implemented to build Muslim customer’s trust and confidence to use Shariah-compliant digital payments to predict their purchase decision for MSMEs products since the model can be integrated with Islamic teaching.
