Financial condition, working capital policy and profitability: evidence from Indian companies Available to Purchase

Sakti Ranjan Dash is currently working as an Assistant Professor at P.G. Department of Commerce, Berhampur University, Odisha, since 2017. He is also the co-founder of the Institute of Information Technology & Research, Jagatsinghpur Odisha, an institution providing free digital education to Divyanga and transgender students. He is pursuing his PhD at Berhampur University and has obtained his MCom, MPhil and MBA from Utkal University, Odisha. He has qualified UGC-NET in commerce and in addition he has done certification from IIM Bangalore. Prior to joining Berhampur University, he has worked as a full-time research scholar at the Department of Management Studies (DoMs), IIT Madras, Chennai. He has been conferred with many awards and recognitions like “P.G. merit scholarship for University Rank Holder” from University Grant Commission (UGC), Radhanath Rath Chhatrabruti” from The Samaj – the leading Odia daily newspaper, Meritorious Student Scholarship from the Government of Odisha and HTRA scholarship from IIT Madras, for his academic excellence. He is a spiritual and creative thinker, and many awards also go to his credit for his excellence in the social sphere of life like “Param Vir Sevak Award” Best NSS Programme Officer of NSS Bureau, Berhampur University, “Karamveer Award”: a National Award for Distinguished Programme Officer by Krisha Foundation, Mumbai. He has been serving as an executive member of the Indian Accounting Association (Bhubaneswar Branch). He is also a life member of Indian Commerce Association, Indian Accounting Association, Odisha Commerce Association and World Leadership Academy (general member). So far, he has presented his research output in more than 30 national and 17 international seminars and conferences and was awarded four best papers. He has authored one book, published more than 20 articles (including Scopus and WoS indexed) and acted as a reviewer for many journals of national and international repute. He is also invited as resource person by many organisations of national repute. He is also regular column writer of popular odia newspapers. Apart from his academics, he has also served the university administration in various capacities. His board research area is accounting and finance.

Dr Maheswar Sethi has earned his Doctorate of Philosophy and Master of Commerce from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He has qualified UGC-NET-JRF and has been teaching in the P.G. Department of Commerce, Berhampur University since 2016. Prior to his joining in Berhampur University, he has served the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha as Lecturer for a period of more than two years by qualifying Odisha Public Service Commission (O.E.S). He has been conferred with awards like POSCO Asia Fellowship for academic excellence in Master Degree and Chakradhar Award for academic excellence in Intermediate Degree. In the field of research, he has received Prof Manubhai M. Shah Memorial Research Award and Gold Medal for best research paper in 72nd All India Commerce Conference conferred by Indian Commerce Association. He is a life member of Indian Commerce Association (ICA), Indian Accounting Association (IAA) and Orissa Commerce Association (OCA). He has acted as resource person and delivered talks in many other academic institutions. He is a reviewer of many reputed journals and member of board of studies of many academic institutions. He is also working as Associate Editor of Research Journal of Berhampur University. He has presented research papers at various national and international seminars and conferences. He has published articles (including Scopus and WoS indexed) in various journals of national and international repute. He has organised state level, national and international seminars/conferences. His research interest lies in accounting, corporate finance and international finance. Presently, he is the Coordinator, P.G. Department of Commerce and Coordinator of MBA (Financial Management) self financing course.

Dr Rabindra Kumar Swain has obtained his Master of Commerce, MPhil, MBA and PhD from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He has qualified ICWAI and UGC-NET-JRF and has been teaching in the Department of Commerce, Utkal University, since 2010. He is currently working on accounting in general and accounting standards and reporting in particular. Besides that, he is working on financial management of corporate to develop new financial strategies for better performance of corporate. In the field of research, he has received “Prof Manubhai M. Shah Memorial Research Award and Gold Medal” for best research paper in 72nd All India Commerce Conference conferred by Indian Commerce Association. He is a life member of Indian Commerce Association, Indian Accounting Association and Orissa Commerce Association. He has presented many research papers at National and International seminars and conferences. He has published many articles in various journals of national and international repute.
