Risk propagation and its impact on performance in food processing supply chain: A fuzzy interpretive structural modeling based approach

Atanu Chaudhuri is an Associate Professor at the Center for Industrial Production, Aalborg University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, India, and is a Fellow of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. He has more than 12 years of experience spanning automobile manufacturing, operations consulting, research and teaching. His publications have appeared in International Journal of Production Research, R&D Management, Computers and Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Logistics Management, Journal of Business Strategy, among others. His areas of research are supply chain risk management, new product development and manufacturing competitiveness. Please note that this research was conducted when the first author was employed at IIM, Lucknow.

Samir K. Srivastava is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (India). He is a graduate in Electrical Engineering from the Institute of Technology, BHU, MBA in Finance and Fellow of IIM Lucknow. He has more than two decades of experience in teaching, research, consulting and industry. He has published extensively in reputed journals such as BPMJ, IJMR, IJPDLM, Omega, TQM&BE, among others. His papers have received “Best Paper Award”, “Best Student Paper Award” and “McGraw Hill Publishing Best Paper Award”. He is on the editorial boards of reputed journals like International Journal of Management Reviews, International Journal of Logistics Management and International Journal of Remanufacturing. His major areas of interest are food supply chains, public procurement, reverse logistics and sustainable supply chains.

Rajiv K. Srivastava is a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research (IEOR) from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA. He obtained his post-graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, National Institute for Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai after his BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. He has 35 years of experience in academics, research and industry, and has been a faculty member at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, in the Operations Management area since 1990. Earlier, he has taught at the Department of Industrial Engineering, State University of New York at Buffalo, New York, USA and at NITIE, Mumbai. Professor Srivastava’s interest areas are in analysis and design of manufacturing systems, production planning and control, and applications of information technology and quantitative methods in operations management

Zeenat Parveen completed her master’s in Agri Business Management from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. Her interest is in food and retail supply chains.
