The load on an electric motor driving a concrete pump is taken as a measure of the friction of the concrete in the pipe-line leading from the pump. By using a recording ammeter, continuous records were taken of pumping concrete having different slumps, through different lengths of pipe. This article is in the nature of an interim report in which it is suggested that further useful work could be carried out.
