Bulk storage of cement for a concrete laboratory

The paper describes a recently developed storage system using an air-tight welded-steel silo which discharges through a rotary-vane feeder and closed screw conveyor. The special precautions for preventing ingress of water and carbon dioxide and the facilities for fluidizing the cement are also covered in detail.
