Using curvature of precast beams to measure the loss of prestress due to creep before loading

The loss of prestress due to creep before loading in small precast prestressed beams was calculated from their change of curvature. The results were checked by measuring the change in the lengths of the prestressing wires and the shrinkage of control pieces. An application of the idea to creep tests on compression specimens is mentioned.
