Some tests on the effect of yield lines on the behaviour of reinforced concrete T beams

An exploratory series of tests on three reinforced concrete T beams was made to determine the effect of longitudinal cracking in the flange. The tests indicated that the strength of a reinforced concrete T beam is unlikely to be greatly affected by such cracking.
