The paper describes the design and testing of apparatus for the study of time-dependent strains in concrete under sustained multiaxial loading. The apparatus is designed to measure the three orthogonal strains under three independent compressive stresses. Special attention is given to the problem of frictional effects between the loading platens and the concrete specimens.
