Synopsis
The stress distributions in the anchorage zone of an I-section member which is axially post-tensioned through an end-block are presented. They have been obtained from finite-element analyses. Three end-block lengths are considered. Comparisons are made betwren the stresses in the members with end-blocks and (a) the section with no end-block (b) the rectangular prismatic beam of which the cross-section is identical with that of the end-block.
