Improvements to the Figg method for determining the air permeability of concrete Available to Purchase

Modifications to the Figg method for in situ determination of the air permeability of concrete are recommended. These are the use of a hole size of 10mm diameter × 40 mm deep with a silicone rubber plug 20 mm from the surface and a digital solid-state manometer. The time, in seconds, taken for a pressure change from 55 to 50 kN/m²below atmospheric is taken as a measure of the air permeability. A table of protective quality of cementitious materials is tentatively proposed.
