There were two main problems with the original two-point workability test apparatus—segregation of the concrete during testing, and difficulties in operating the equipment. Based on the modification of the apparatus described in this Paper, it appears that reliable rheological information on fresh concrete properties can be obtained; also, the susceptibility of the mix to concrete segregation can be quantified.
