The yield-line method is widely used for the analysis and design of reinforced concrete slabs. The distribution of support reaction has hitherto not been found, and hera method for the compatible reaction is described. The solution for the reaction and the attendant bending moments over the yield-lines also lead to the solution for the hithertounsolved problem of the degree of orthotropy in the slabs.
