This Paper is concerned with the study of the deflection of structural lightweight aggregate concrete beams over a period of six months using two types of lightweight aggregate available in the UK. The beams were centrally loaded under a constant load over the specified period and the deflections along their length were measured at regular intervals. The aim was to cover the likely range of density of structural lightweight aggregate concrete, and to compare the results with those of normal weight concrete and also with their estimated values calculated according to the requirements in BS 8110: Part 2.
