Corrosion at the steel-mortar interface in reinforced concrete structures was studied by use of the coulostatic method. The corrosion rate and double-layer capacitance thus obtained were consistent with those provided by other, more common electrochemical methods. The coulostatic method provides more reliable data for corrosion in the passive state as a result of the measuring electrode being perturbed to a much lesser extent than with the other methods.
