Summary
Details are given of tests on 0·2 in. diameter prestressing steel maintained under approximately constant strain, in order to determine the relaxation of stress at various initial loads, including the effect of initial overstressing.
A special testing technique was developed facilitating a simple but sensitive method of measuring the force in the wires, which were of a sufficient length to give a good average value of the effect of creep.
