The paper describes a method of comparing the workability of mixes of low water content by measuring the power required to vibrate them under standard conditions. A relationship between the number of gaps in a grading and the average power demand is obtained from energy-time curves for various mixes and types of grading. An example illustrates the use of this relationship in calculating the weight of concrete which can be vibrated on a table under given conditions.
