The aim of this study was to try and identify a way of recycling concrete from construction and demolition waste (CDW) in the concrete industry. Palm leaf ash (PLA) was used as an addition and a partial replacement of cement and CDW aggregate was used as 50%, 80% and 100% replacements of natural aggregate (NA). The PLA was used a replacement of 5% of conventional Portland cement and also in a mix with 5% addition of PLA. The recycled aggregate concretes were tested for workability and compressive strength. The results showed that when 80% of NA was replaced with recycled aggregate and 5% of cement was replaced with PLA, the compressive strength was comparable to standard grade C30 concrete and the mix had a suitable slump. With a replacement of 50% of NA with RA and replacing 5% of the cement with PLA, the compressive strength was increased by 16.7% compared with the strength of normal concrete.
