Two linear parks in the cities of Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Palmira (Colombia) were analysed in terms of their use, meaning and benefit, to highlight their difference and similarities to those in other cities. A conceptual model was tested with park users to find their main reasons for using it. The principal finding is that the linear parks studied were used mainly as a commuting route, and they also have a range of other uses. This allows a range of proposals, for both design, management, quality and other related features.
