Discusses cash deposits generally and the problems for banks arising from security over cash deposits. Notes that areas of concern for a bank are the withdrawal or assignment of the deposit by the customer and the insolvent liquidation of the customer. Concludes that re‐structuring of loans must include careful attention to the provisions of the Insolvency Act 1986 regarding transactions at an undervalue and preferences.
