The Paper discusses the Ulu Pandan sewage disposal scheme in the State of Singapore, commissioned in July 1961. The brief introductory section gives some general comment on Singapore conditions. This is followed by more detailed information about the background to the scheme. Broad details of the basis of design and of the plant provided are followed by some observations on (a) features of particular interest in the design and (b) problems in the construction of the scheme. The Paper concludes with information about contract costs and with acknowledgements.
