After a brief description of the Amsterdam Arena stadium project this article describes some of the remarkable aspects of the structural design of the stadium. These are the retractable roof construction, the large distance between the expansion joints, the innovative way of making floors, the span and the shape of the stand elements and last but not least the design-and-construct contract and organization.
