This paper summarises the extensive grouting operation on a 1·7 km long externally post-tensioned precast segmental viaduct, part of the recently opened phase of improvements to the A13 trunk road in Dagenham. The authors' intention is to provide practical feedback to the industry on specific items such as air testing, ducting and grouting as well as linking this to the Concrete Society's Technical Report No. 47. Experiences described also include the client's instruction of a full-scale grouting trial preceding the permanent works grouting and aspects of grouted tendon replacement. Emphasis is given to practical considerations that are important for a successful grouting operation.
