With the development of technology in civil engineering, new types of structures and architecture appear every day. From conventional structures to adaptive structures, from sensory structures to controlled structures, from active structures to intelligent structures, new approaches to structural design have been developed and new materials invented so that civil engineering can meet human needs more thoroughly and effectively. From common houses to skyscrapers, from disordered towns to rationally arranged cities, new kinds of adaptive architecture are also designed to improve human lifestyle, make our living environment more interesting, and help us to adapt to the existing environment.
