Analysis of São Vicente de Fora church, Portugal

The current paper presents a rehabilitation analysis of the sixteenth century church of São Vicente de Fora, where significant damage was observed, particularly in the structure of the barrel vaulted roof above the nave. Having ascertained the main pathology of the church, a numerical model was developed to analyse the behaviour of the structure and to identify the most probable causes of its damage. The numerical model was then used to define possible solutions for the repair and strengthening of the structure of the barrel vaulted roof.
