The M60 Denton to Middleton scheme, formally known as the M66, is one of the largest infrastructure schemes to be constructed in the north-west for a number of years. This scheme completed the ‘ring’ around the Greater Manchester conurbation and substantially completed the regional network in the north-west. This paper provides an overview of the scheme design and a summary of some of the elements that have been considered in delivering this large infrastructure project.
