Papers published in Transport are eligible for awards from the Institution of Civil Engineers. Papers from any of the ICE journals can be nominated for several awards. In addition, each journal has awards dedicated to their specific subject area.

On Friday 5 October 2007, ICE president Quentin Leiper presented awards to the following papers published in Transport in 2006. The editorial panel nominated their best papers and an awards committee chaired by John Burland allocated the awards.

The Rees Jeffrys Award, presented for the best paper on highway engineering, has been awarded to: Bayliss D. Road user charging and taxation. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Transport, 2006, 159, No. 4, 147–152.

The Webb Prize, presented for the best paper on railway or transport engineering, has been awarded to: Bastin R. Development of German non-ballasted track forms. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Transport, 2006, 159, No. 1, 25–39.

A Telford Premium, presented for the best paper on waste, has been awarded to: de Oña J. and Osorio F. Using waste to reduce slope erosion on road embankments. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Transport, 2006, 159, No. 1, 15–24.
