Papers published in Transport are eligible for awards from the Institution of Civil Engineers. Papers from any of the ICE journals can be nominated for several awards. In addition, each journal has awards dedicated to their specific subject area.

On Wednesday 1 November 2006, outgoing ICE president Gordon Masterton presented awards to the following papers published in Transport in 2005. The editorial panel nominated their best papers and an awards committee chaired by John Burland allocated the awards.

The Baker Medal for the third best paper overall was awarded to: Evans A. W. Railway risks, safety values and safety costs.

The Parkman Medal, presented for the best paper on management, was awarded to: Barling J. M. and Fleming P. The safe management of civil airfield pavements. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Transport, 2005, 158, No. 2, 97–106.

The Webb Prize (2), presented for the best paper on general transportation, was awarded to: Saunders J. P. F. The rise and fall of Edinburgh's congestion charging plans. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Transport, 2005, 158, No. 4, 193–201.
