‘Tracking the developing language of urbanism.’

Urbanwords is a project with the ambitious aim of recording the meanings and tracking the development of the words people use to talk and write about their urban environment. The project's groundbreaking 500-page book The Dictionary of Urbanism1 has been hailed as the standard reference on urban design, planning, regeneration and the culture of cities. Since its publication in 2005, the Urbanwords project has continued to add entries; many of these have been posted on the online supplement (www.urbanwords.info), which can be accessed free of charge.
