The Urbanwords project has the ambitious aim of recording the meanings and tracking the development of the words we use to talk and write about our urban environment. Its groundbreaking 500-page book The Dictionary of Urbanism (Cowan, 2005) has been hailed as the standard reference on urban design, planning, regeneration and the culture of cities.
