Papers published in Water Management are eligible for awards from the Institution of Civil Engineers. Papers from any ICE journal can be nominated for several awards. In addition, each journal has awards dedicated to their specific subject area.
On Wednesday 1 November 2006, outgoing ICE president Gordon Masterton presented awards to the following papers published in Water Management in 2005. The editorial panel nominated their best papers and an awards committee chaired by John Burland allocated the awards.
The Coopers Hill War Memorial Prize, presented for the fourth best paper, has been presented to: Ruether N., Singh J. M., Olsen N. R. B. and Atkinson E. 3-D computation of sediment transport at water intakes. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Water Management, 2005, 158, No. 1, 1–8.
The Overseas Prize (1), presented for the best paper on an overseas project, has been presented to: Laycock A., Swayne C. and Marques J. E. J. Pehur high-level canal, NWFP, Pakistan. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Water Management, 2005, 158, No. 3, 93–102.
The Robert Alfred Carr Prize, presented for the best paper on water engineering, has been presented to: Wardlaw R. B., Sharif M. and Kimaite F. Real-time hydro-power forecasting on the Victoria Nile. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Water Management, 2005, 158, No. 2, 45–54.
The Telford Premium (4), presented for the second best paper on water engineering, has been presented to: Dale M. Impact of climate change on UK flooding and future predictions. Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Water Management, 2005, 158, No. 4, 135–140.
