Briefing: Direct solution for water surface profile in circular channels

Analytical and semi-analytical methods have been used to determine the water surface profile of gradually varied flow (GVF) in circular open channels. This paper presents an exact analytical solution to integrate the GVF equation and the respective water surface profile graphs. The proposed method is applied using a numerical example and compared with the existing approximate analytical solution.
