The modelling of urban pollution has tended to concentrate on the hydraulic performance of the drainage systems and in particular of combined sewer overflows. This paper describes the modelling of various urban catchments together with the catchment of the receiving water in a holistic fashion and investigates the overall contribution of rainfall patterns and catchment characteristics to the impact which urban discharges have on receiving waters.
