Fuzzy systems in cybernetics

Reflects upon the paucity of opportunities to publish papers on fuzzy systems 30 years ago and how Kybernetes became the first journal to do so. Acknowledges particularly the encouragement of the then Editor‐in‐chief – Dr J. Rose and how a close personal and working relationship was formed. Summarizes past Congresses of Cybernetics and Systems and acknowledges Dr Rose’s contributions and support. Provides an insight into how cybernetics was first presented to the public at large.
