Simple modifications that can lead to increased accuracy, at least in the specific cases tested, are described for two forms of the well‐known Simpson's rule for approximate numerical integration. A computer program is available on the Internet to allow demonstration and further testing of the methods. In such a thoroughly‐explored area of mathematics the underlying idea may not be novel and “forum” feedback will be welcomed.
