He highlights the roles that nanomaterials such as those with new optical, electrical, and magnetic properties plays. He considers the potential for chipsets that are not silcon‐based and which would be faster and much smaller which will result in new‐style computers with much enhanced memories and processors. Quantum computing is very likely to bring a new era of computers.
This book provides a great deal of useful information about nanotechnology science and about the current applications. A Glossary of terms and concepts in the field are also included. Perhaps of greatest value are the appendices which take the readers into the realms of quantum computing and some of the basic science needed to understand the advances in nanotechnology.
This is a worthwhile book that gives one an insight into the future of developments that will undoubtedly benefit from the intelligent application of nanotechnology.
