The Cabell Directory, we are told by the publisher, has the simple objective of helping you to publish your ideas. It aims to provide the information needed to select those journals that are most likely to publish your work and to do this it provides an index that classifies the journals into twenty-two topic areas. It also gives details of the journal's type of review process which, of course, is essential for any aspiring contributor.

Although it focuses on journals that specialise in the area of Management there are other directories available that cover other areas of specialisation.

The Directory is easy to use and its four volumes certainly cover the field of management. It provides useful advice on how to get your article published. See page 1374 for the Kybernetes entry. One would expect to see these volumes on the shelves of a good library rather than in ones own collection of reference texts. Whether the basic information can be gleaned by searching the Net is debatable. No doubt the publishers must be considering an online version or providing the material on disk.
