The author from the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, Bernal, Argentina has written this book so that he believes readers will require no previous knowledge of programming-related concepts. It is structured to introduce the Python computer language which is recognised as being powerful yet comparatively easy-to-use. Potential readers will wish to appreciate that this volume uses real-world biological problems as its application area. It benefits from the provision of the working code used to solve such example problems and also includes a DVD with a “ready to run” virtual machine based in DNALineux to test the code.
