Fifteenth WOSC Congress, Nanjing, China, September 15-18
There are two small changes in the congress arrangements, as given recently (Kybernetesvol. 39, no. 4, 2010, pp. 679-83). One is that a session on “Organisational Cybernetics” will be included, organised by Raul Espejo (r.espejo@syncho.org),who worked with Stafford Beer in Chile, and who has enlisted valuable plenary speakers. Details are on his web site at: www.syncho.org. The full list of sessions to be included in the congress will be available after March 20.
The other change is that the relevant dates for submission have been revised and are now as follows:
March 20, 2011: Deadline for submission of proposal for special sessions(but please contact organisers).
April 20, 2011: Deadline for submission of full papers.
June 20, 2011: Acceptance/rejection notification.
July 20, 2011: Final camera-ready papers due in electronic form and congress fee.

Norbert Wiener Institute of Systems and Cybernetics
A special meeting of the institute will be held in London, UK to discuss the organisation and functions of the institute with a view to extending its activities and to discuss its present close links with World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics (WOSC’s) officially selected journal – Kybernetes. The director will contact officers who are involved but feedback from the federated institutions and organisations that form WOSC, and also journal contributors is welcome. Institute of Cybernetics Systems and Information Technology
The Institute of Cybernetics Systems and Information Technology (ICSIT) at Kolkata, is recognised by the Government of India and also, has close links with the Indian Statistical Institute. Its director is Professor Dwijesh Dutta Majumber, who is well known for his contributions to Kybernetes and a past winner of many awards from this journal and from WOSC. Director-General of WOSC – New Autobiographical Reminiscences
The Director-General of WOSC, Dr Alex M. Andrew, has recently been invited to publish his autobiographical reminiscences (Andrew, 2011).
This was one of the several invited autobiographical articles aimed at publishing historical information and insights regarding the thought processes and individual motivations of leading figures in the systems movement.
Dr Andrew is the journal’s Internet Editor and long-standing Supporter and Contributor. He has published extensively and has lose links with the Department of Cybernetics at the University of Reading, Reading, UK.
