Introduces the Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library (EEVL), offering a gateway to Internet resources for engineering. Argues for the need for such a gateway. Looks at the background to the project, its development and promotion. Discusses user‐friendliness including help and support systems before considering future possibilities such as common sheets, better searching and alerting services.
