Adding value to Internet collections

The benefits of a library providing access to remote Internet resources lie in the ways librarians add value to their Internet collections. This article opens with a discussion of when librarians should develop their own Internet collections and then provides strategic guidance for those who choose to do so. There are two key ways librarians can add value to collections of Internet resources: by ensuring the findability of Internet resources via well‐planned organization, navigation, labeling and learning sysems; and by carefully selecting, evaluating and describing the resources that populate their Internet collections.
