The Objective Request‐for‐Proposal Available to Purchase

A Request‐for‐Proposal (RFP) performs four functions, including preparing staff for systems implementation. Traditional RFPs have been characterized by detailed performance (functional) and hardware specifications, but these RFPs may not adequately address differences in systems design, philosophy, expandability, and related issues. They also discourage vendor responses. An alternative “objective RFP” (and its benefits/ liabilities) is discussed.
