LANSLIDE: The Automated Management of a Slide Library Available to Purchase

Lancaster University Library developed an in‐house software package,LANSLIDE, for its slide collection in 1987. Examines the system, which includes slide cataloguing, mini‐label production, keyword searching,and classmark searching. A recent development has been the introduction of an issue module. The system has resulted in savings in staff time,and much improved access to the slide collection.
