Understanding the reading habit and attitudes among the rural community in low literacy rate areas in Malaysia: Rural library perspectives Available to Purchase

Samsul Farid Samsuddin is Senior Lecturer at the Department of Library & Information Science, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He was Library Assistant, and started his career in 2005; and was then appointed as Academic Librarian in 2010 at the Universiti Putra Malaysia before joining the University of Malaya in 2018. He graduated with a bachelor degree in Science in Information Studies (Hons) Library & Information Management from University of Technology Mara in 2010, and obtained his Masters degree in 2012, in Library & Information Science, from the University of Malaya (UM). Obtained his PhD Degree in 2017, in Rural Advancement from Universiti Putra Malaysia. His research interests focus on library services, library management, user behaviour, rural libraries and community development. He is active in teaching, research and publications.

Hayrol Azril Mohamed Shaffril holds Doctorate Degree in Rural Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is currently Senior Research Officer at the Institute for Social Science Studies, UPM. To date he has undertaken extensive research in rural development, climate change and well-being.

Jusang Bolong has Doctorate Degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He is Associate Professor at the Communications Department, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, UPM. Currently, he is Deputy Dean (Research and Innovation) at the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communications. His focus of studies are human communication, development communication and social media.

Nor Aini Mohamed holds Bachelor Degree from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Human Resource Development. She is Senior Research Officer at the Institute of Social Science Studies, UPM. Her research is geared toward well-being, the use of ICT among the various communities, and people with disabilities.
