The rankings in the latest edition of the annual World Competitiveness Yearbook are a resounding confirmation of the post‐communist hegemony. While the US is way out ahead of its competitor countries, the other former super power, Russia, languishes at the bottom of the table. As a benchmarking exercise, the Yearbook survey is based on a robust framework which echoes the more familiar holistic business models.
