Purpose

Green practices in logistics can abate carbon emissions, waste and resource depletion while improving supply chain efficiency and social responsibility. The current scenario requires high coordination and an increasing concern for using green practices. Therefore, the study aims to examine current green practices and ssociated implementation challenges in the integrated logistics industry, and to develop effective metrics for evaluating their impact on business strategy.

Design/methodology/approach

A questionnaire-based survey was conducted, and the results of different statistical tests were analyzed. Various research hypotheses were developed based on the relationships among the identified enablers, operations and their performances to address and solve the challenges aligned with logistics.

Findings

This study considered seven hypotheses. Four additional strategies identified for the study include service maximization, profit maximization, maximum competitive advantage and minimization of noxious emissions through green practices.

Originality/value

This paper investigates the components needed for green practices that would lead the activity around adapting sustainability in integrated logistics. It explores the current practices of integrated logistics and tests the validity of formulated hypotheses used in this research paper.
